Current Position and Professional Functions

Strategic Analytics at Cancer Care Ontario.

Luciano is a Decision Scientist at Cancer Care Ontario (in time Ontario Health) and a PhD Candidate in Health Economics at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) at the University of Toronto. He is currently conducting research in the area of health system decision-making under budgetary constraints using both qualitative and quantitative research methods. His main research interests lie in the areas of economic and program evaluation, and decision-making for the purposes of funding new healthcare programs, services or technologies.

Education and Training

Mr. Ieraci‘s educational background is in mathematics and statistics with an Hon. BSc degree from Brock University and MSc degree from McGill University.

Research Interests and Expertise

Luciano’s work experience is diverse and covers a wide range of analytics used to solve health agency business and research questions. This includes predictive modelling, machine learning, micro-simulation, cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses, return on investment, and scenario analysis. He has previously worked in positions leading teams and engagement with a variety of stakeholders at Health Quality Ontario (HQO), the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), ICES (previously the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences), the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), and the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
