Education and Training

Karen received her BHSc (Hon) in Health Sciences with a Specialization in Global Health from McMaster University, and MD at Queen's University. She is currently training as a plastic and reconstructive surgery resident at the University of Toronto.

Research Interests and Expertise

Her primary research interests are in health related quality of life methods, patient preferences, and their applications in economic analyses, specifically with how they relate to plastic surgery and global health. Her career goal is to be an academic physician with expertise advocating for patients in low-resource settings through economic evaluations that drive changes in policy.
