Education and Training

Anna received her Bachelor of Social Work from Ryerson University and her Master of Social Work, specializing in the field of gerontology, from University of Toronto. In addition to her MSW, Anna received a certificate for completing the Collaborative Program in Aging, Palliative and Supportive Care Across the Life Course, from the Institute for Life Course and Aging. She is the recipient of the Northwater Capital Management Award in Aging, Lisa Crew Memorial Award, Jenny and Jean Green Social Justice Award and the Russell Jolliffe Award for Excellence in Social Work Practice.

Research Interests and Expertise

Anna has front-line experience in community, long-term care and hospital, predominantly working with older adults. Most recently she worked on the Transitional Behavioural Support Unit in Baycrest Health Sciences with residents experiencing responsive behaviours secondary to their dementia. Anna has also worked on numerous qualitative studies at the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly (NICE) in collaboration with the Institute for Life Course and Aging at the University of Toronto. Studies included knowledge translation and opioid use among older adult populations.

Projects

Currently, she is working on projects exploring environmental impacts of health care, self-directed home care and behavioural support outreach teams.
