THETA Collaborative presents at the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) 2016 - 38th Annual North American Meeting
Place: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Dates: October 23 - October 26, 2016
Theme: From Uncertainty to Action
As Ellen Peters wrote, "uncertainty abounds" in health care decisions. From decision models to decision aids and prediction tools, incorporating and communicating uncertain information is key to transparent, informed decision-making for individuals, clinicians, and policy makers. For over 30 years, SMDM members have sought to improve decision-making while accounting for uncertainty about the magnitude and severity of benefits and risks, the strength of current evidence, and how to weigh risks and benefits from the perspectives of the individual, health system, and society.
