Current Position and Professional Functions
Dr. Wendong Chen is the founder of Normin Health and worked for three years at the University of Copenhagen for evidence-based medicine. He has authored over 40 publications in health outcomes and economic research related to cancers (lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, multiple myeloma), chronic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn's disease, chronic viral hepatitis), and medical devices (hemostatic agents, vena cave filters, and staplers).
The academic affiliations of Dr. Wendong Chen include Toronto Health Economics and Technology Assessment Collaborative at the University of Toronto and the Cancer Center of Second Xiangya Hospital at the Central South University.
Education and Training
Dr. Chen received his MD from Beijing Medical University (now is the medical school of Peking University) in Beijing, China and his Ph.D. in health outcomes and economic evaluation from the department of health policy, management, and evaluation at the University of Toronto.

Research Interests and Expertise
Dr. Chen's main research interest is to develop disease natural history models, which can be used to estimate disease burden and assess health technologies, programs, and polices. Dr. Chen is currently funded by the Canadian Liver Foundation to estimate the disease burden of chronic hepatitis C in Canada using large health administrative databases.
