Research Interests and Expertise
For her thesis project, Yasmin is measuring the health utilities (quality of life) of chronic hepatitis C patients. She is focusing on subgroups of hepatitis C patients whose health utilities have not been previously well-studied, including socioeconomically marginalized patients and patients with severe liver disease. This will help us to better understand the burden of hepatitis C. Additionally, this information can be used in cost-effectiveness analyses of hepatitis C screening and treatment programs to help healthcare systems decide how to allocate their limited resources.
Projects
Understanding the treatment benefits of novel antiviral agents for hepatitis C: quality of life, health utility, cost, and return to work.
