Current Position and Professional Functions

She is a member of Dr. Murray Krahn’s research team, supporting various research activities including scoping and systematic reviews, protocol setup, ethics application, patient surveys, data management and analysis, report and manuscript preparation.


Education and Training

Josephine received her medical training in Hong Kong, medical specialist training in the UK, and medical research training in the US.

Research Interests and Expertise

Josephine is interested in utility, economic evaluation, and modeling studies. She is experienced with database searching, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, and REDCap database management.

Projects:
o Understanding the treatment benefits of novel antiviral agents for hepatitis C: quality of life, health utility, cost, and return to work (HCV-NOVAA Utility Study)
o Using economic modeling to estimate hepatitis C provincial and national drug plan expenditures in the next decade
o Economic evaluation of interventions to systematically collect and use patient-reported outcomes and integrate palliative care in early practice
o Addressing hepatitis B using a multidisciplinary approach
